SLOW SAVOR: A GENERATIVE WRITING SERIES
Slow Savor is a four-part generative writing series I'm leading this summer! The name of the series comes from a note that my father taped above his Wurlitzer piano as a reminder to slow down and savor every chord. The idea has guided my writing practice as I try to savor memories, images, ideas, and questions that come up in my writing.
This summer, let's slow down and write together! We'll meet online, one Wednesday a month, June through September, for one-hour workshops exploring the power of handwritten letters, writing into the present, memory as fragments, and reading your day as tarot. These are experimental forms and techniques I've been working on recently and am excited to share with you! To learn more about the workshop series, read here.
Wednesdays, 12-1 CT, on Zoom:
June 17: Dear You
Writing toward the people, places, and selves that have been waiting for a letter.
You can read more about my recent musings on the power of handwritten letters here.
July 15: In This Moment
Slowing everything down to write the present moment with precision and care.
You can read more about this concept here.
August 19: Transit Slips
Working with the fragment as form — memory as it actually arrives, in slips and flashes.
You can read more about my thoughts on this idea here.
September 16: Reading Your Day as Tarot
Interpreting life’s moments, scenes and encounters as symbols with depth and meaning.
You can read a little more about what I mean here.
No experience necessary!
Fee: $15 (pay what you can) via PayPal
